Rapid Med chooses CodoniXnotes

Highland Village Texas February 27, 2008 Rapid-Med is a family owned business that specializes in urgent care and occupational medicine in Highland Village, Texas. Rapid-Med prides itself on convenience and quality care. Dr. John Gomez, owner of Rapid-Med was looking for a system that could make his practice more efficient and cost effective but would not require any large outlays for computer software and hardware. After seeing a demonstration of the CodoniXnotes system, Dr. Gomez was sold. “I saw that whoever designed the application really understood the workflow of an urgent care. The application really does work like we do.” Dr. Gomez used the 60 day free trial period to give the system a full “work out” before it was completely implemented. “Using the system with no pressure to purchase really allowed us to find out whether the application would do everything we thought it could. Happily, we found that it worked exactly as we expected.” He went on to say that “Because the system allows us to work faster and more efficiently, we have been able to nearly double our patient volume with no increase in staff. “

Rapid-Med also appreciates the flexibility of using both the CodoniXnotes tracker board and appointment scheduler. “We have one family practitioner with scheduled patients who uses the CodoniXnotes appointment scheduler while the urgent care uses the tracker board for our walk in patients.”

Dr. Gomez also likes the risk management features and reminders that are built into the system. “We use quite a few “moonlighters” to fill in for our full time physicians, and with CodoniX I have a sense of security since I know that CodoniXnotes will prompt our part timers to follow the correct clinical protocols as well as all of the procedures and standards that we have in place.

CodoniX President and CEO, Bill Boles, said that “We are very pleased that Rapid-Med has chosen CodoniXnotes for its Urgent Care Centers CodoniXnotes has a workflow that matches the unique needs of urgent care facilities. Rapid-Med’s success with CodoniXnotes really illustrates the value of using an EMR that is designed for use in urgent care clinics.”
