CodoniX introduces office version of coding and charting software at AAFP Show
Orlando, FL, October 11, 2004. Based on the success of its hospital-based coding and charting system for Emergency Departments, CodoniX, Inc., is introducing a new, web-based version for use by individual physicians at the American Academy of Family Physicians 2004 Scientific Assembly.
Designed for family practice, OB/GYN, Orthopedics and Urgent Care physicians, CodoniXnotes for the Office is being offered for only $89/mon., following a free, 30-day trial.
Developed by physicians for physicians, CodoniXnotes replaces traditional dictation or hand-written notes with an HIPAA-compliant electronic record. It captures all relevant patient history, exam results, procedures and diagnoses and produces an easy-to-read narrative chart in minutes that's completely coded and ready to bill. For most physicians the cost per chart is less than twenty cents.
Besides saving time and eliminating the cost of transcription services for private practitioners, CodoniXnotes also reduces the incidence of under-coding or missed diagnoses. In fact, CodoniX is so confident CodoniXnotes can increase physicians' rates of reimbursement, it provides a money back guarantee.
According to CodoniX CEO, Bill Boles, "the original CodoniX Coding and Charting System has been used at hospitals nation-wide for more than five years to record over a million patient visits. Depending on the facility's prior level of billing efficiency," he states, "it has consistently increased their recovery of lost revenue by up to 30 percent and even more.
"Now that we've made this same coding application available to individual practitioners, we see no reason why they shouldn't be just as successful at increasing their billings."
Developed by physicians for physicians, CodoniXnotes incorporates a comprehensive base of medical knowledge that is updated regularly. Featuring an intuitive, point-and-click navigation system, it mirrors the way physicians already practice medicine, and most users can learn the basic application in under an hour using a self-paced, on-line tutorial.
Physicians who are interested can find out more about CodoniXnotes on-line at www.codonixnotes.com, where they can view a demonstration video and try out the application with a no-obligation, 24-hour test drive to chart their own actual patient visits.
CodoniX notes is also available with an Extended System Module for an additional $39/mon. that lets them store and access patient records securely from any location with Web access. In addition to providing unlimited physician access to patient records anytime day or night, it replaces the costly and cumbersome, paper filing environment with a state-of-the-art HIPAA compliant electronic solution.
But the bottom line, Boles emphasizes, is that eliminating the time-consuming and tedious necessity of making handwritten notes or performing dictation frees up physician time so they can spend more time with their patients. "And that," he says, "is better healthcare, hands-down."
Headquartered in Potomac, MD, CodoniX, Inc. (www.codonix.com) is a privately held company with a proprietary technology that can be accessed on a local area network or via the Internet to accurately build and code a computerized physician's notes without using complex menus and rigid templates. These notes reduce errors and dramatically increase collections and cut administrative costs associated with dictation, transcription, coding and copying. Other medical specialty documentation applications are available orthopedics, obstetrics/gynecology family practice and urgent care.
